Teef Grants at Work: Life Skills Boxes

Students with disabilities at Raymond Mays Middle School are gaining valuable independent learning skills thanks to a new addition in their functional academics class, made possible through one of the many TEEF grants from last spring.
“This grant helps students with their self-esteem and social behaviors,” said Jennifer Bell, emphasizing its role in preparing students for daily living and future employment.
The grant funded life skill boxes—vocational task/work box systems designed to help students follow multi-step directions, take responsibility for their tasks and workspaces, and develop money management skills. Because the grant provides long-term support, it will benefit both current and future students at the middle and high school levels for years to come.
We are grateful for grants like these that foster inclusivity and empower all students with essential life skills!
