About Me

Educational History:

Graduated from Granbury High School in May of 2011

Graduated from Tarleton State University in August of 2016

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Music Education

Certified EC-12 in Music Education with focus on Band

Current Position:

I am the Head Director of the band program at Raymond Mays Middle School. This will be my first year with Troy ISD and I am super excited! I will be teaching classes ranging from our two ensembles to three sections of beginner classes throughout the day. At our high school, I assist Mr. Honeycutt and Mr. Wainright with the Troy High School Band during both Marching Season and Concert Season.

Previous Position:

I started teaching in August of 2016 at Gatesville ISD. I had the opportunity to graduate earlier thanks to the TIMS program at Tarleton State University. While at Gatesville, I coordinated and managed anything to do with Middle School Band. taught beginner woodwind classes, assisted with Color Guard rehearsals, and team taught with our High School Marching Band.

Family Information:

My husband and I have been married for three years now! We live in the Waco area. He is a band director with La Vega ISD. We both met through mutual distraction during a band rehearsal at Tarleton so we have been together since 2014. We have two pets: A sassy, fluffball named Crookshanks and a SUPER ENERGETIC (and crazy I might add) Welsh Corgi named Spanky.

Personal Information:

When I am not at work, I am listening to music education podcasts -or- playing videogames… RPG is the way to go.

I am a BIG fan of Harry Potter. If you walk in my office, you will see SOOO many lego sets, pop figures and a couple of wands that I have acquired.
