Three RMMS students swept the VFW Post 10377 Patriot’s Pen essay contest, which ended with an awards ceremony last month. The students wrote on the topic of “How can I be a good American?” Each year more than 165,000 students nationwide enter the VFW’s essay contest, competing for prizes at the local, state, and national levels. The RMMS winners were:
Jacob Ward - 1st Place
Laken Danek - 2nd Place
Rhettlee Guin - 3rd Place
Also, 6th grade science teacher Lori Hobbs was named VFW Post 10377 Teacher of the Year.
