RMMS Students Sweep VFW Patriot's Pen Essay Awards

Three RMMS students swept the VFW Post 10377 Patriot’s Pen essay contest, which ended with an awards ceremony last month. The students wrote on the topic of “How can I be a good American?” Each year more than 165,000 students nationwide enter the VFW’s essay contest, competing for prizes at the local, state, and national levels. The RMMS winners were: 


Jacob Ward - 1st Place

Laken Danek - 2nd Place 

Rhettlee Guin - 3rd Place


Also, 6th grade science teacher Lori Hobbs was named VFW Post 10377 Teacher of the Year. 


Mr. Charles Cooper and VFW 10377 presented these students with awards, pictured below. Congratulations to RMMS student and teacher awardees.
